COLOURFUL ROMSEY
THE MARKET PLACE

Picture Below:
The White Horse Inn
The present building probably dates from the time of Henry VII. It is considered to be a high status building, perhaps sponsored by the Abbey. There are several Tudor paintings on internal walls of the building. The White Horse might have been a guest house for Romsey Abbey in the 12th century. As from Summer 2008 the White Horse is under new management and has been completely refurbished.
If you are interested in the pubs and inns of Romsey, the book, So Drunk He Must Have Been To Romsey, published by the LTVAS can be purchased from the Visitor Centre.
